NCBCE Welcomes New Executive Director, Sue Breckenridge



Sue Breckenridge has agreed to become Executive Director of the NC Business Committee for Education. The NCBCE is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization comprised of North Carolina's corporate leaders.  NCBCE’s mission is to ensure that every student in North Carolina graduates from high school ready for life and work in a global society.
 
Sue comes into this role having most recently worked as an entrepreneur with her own public affairs firm Breck Consulting.  She handled public and government affairs, along with media relations with multiple clients including Time Warner Cable, the City of Charlotte’s Utility Department and the Charlotte Bridge Home, a non-profit providing resources to reintegrate military veterans into the community.  Prior to this, she worked at Time Warner Cable in Public Affairs.
 
She has been active in several charitable organizations including Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and the Council For Children's Rights boards and currently serves on several boards including the Better Business Bureau (Past Chair), the JCSU Board of Visitors  and the UNC Charlotte College of Education Advisory Council. She also was Past Chair of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Education Foundation.
 
She is a graduate Findlay University and lives in Charlotte with her husband Larry, and has two grown sons who live in Chicago.
